On December 14, 2024, KIRF Community Hospital Jatlan, District Mirpur, Azad Kashmir marked a significant milestone with the Inauguration of its Ultrasound Department. The ceremony was graced by Dr. Faisal Bashir, Principal of Benazir Medical College Mirpur, who formally launched the ultrasound machine. Dr. Faisal Bashir commended KIRF’s efforts in providing healthcare services to rural communities and pledged support from Medical College. He assured that specialists doctors would visit the Community Hospital to offer their expertise.

Medical Director Dr. Abdul Qudus Akhtar highlighted the importance of ultrasound system and other medical services being provided by KIRF. President KIRF, Mehmood Ahmed Raza, expressed gratitude to Dr. Faisal Bashir for his presence and thanked all attendees. He emphasised KIRF’s commitment to developing the hospital’s capabilities, including the establishment of Gynaecology, Paediatrics, Endoscopy, Nursery for premature newborns, X-ray, Orthopedics, Laboratory, and now Ultrasound Department.

He reiterated KIRF’s mission to provide accessible medical care to rural communities. The ceremony was attended by KIRF members, volunteers, local community leaders, District Councillor Mirza Muhammad Ilyas, and Chairman Union Council Jatlan Malik Mazhar Igbal Awan. President KIRF extended special thanks to donors who have enabled the organisation to offer free healthcare services to those in need.
